The best dinner cruise in Bangkok for 2026 is one that transforms the Chao Phraya River into a floating celebration. The Opulence — Bangkok's newest luxury vessel, launched in late 2023 — offers 710 passengers a choice between a romantic candlelit rooftop and air-conditioned luxury. With a 30+ dish international seafood buffet and front-row views of Wat Arun and the Grand Palace illuminated at night, it is the definitive evening experience on the water.

The Opulence Cruise is Bangkok's newest and most luxurious dinner cruise vessel — launched in November 2023, 710 passengers across three decks, two entirely different atmospheres on the same ship. Above: a candlelit open-air rooftop, dark and romantic, Bangkok's skyline turning slowly around you in the warm night air. Inside: beautifully decorated air-conditioned interior decks — the kind of room you want to photograph, the kind of setting you remember long after you leave Thailand. Over 30 dishes on the international seafood buffet, a duo live band playing throughout the evening, and a signature cocktail called the Infinite Opulence waiting at the rooftop bar.

Book with Trip Thai Tour from ฿1,800 per adult and ฿1,200 per child — buffet, welcome drink, live entertainment, and the full 2h15 cruise all included. No surprises at the pier. We handle the rooftop seat request, brief you on check-in, and arrange the birthday cake if you need one. Private hotel transfer available as an add-on. WhatsApp us directly on +66 89 949 6235 to reserve.

Best Dinner Cruise Bangkok 2026 — The Opulence Chao Phraya

Price: 1800 THB
Duration: 2.25 hours

The best dinner cruise in Bangkok for 2026 — The Opulence. Launched November 2023, this 710-passenger 3-deck vessel features a candlelit open-air rooftop and air-conditioned luxury interior. 30+ dish international seafood buffet. From ฿1,800/adult.

Highlights:

  • Bangkok's newest luxury dinner cruise vessel — launched November 2023. 710-passenger, 3-deck ship, the biggest and most recently built on the Chao Phraya River.
  • Two completely different atmospheres on one ship — candlelit open-air rooftop (3rd floor, 260 seats) for the dark, romantic Bangkok night, or air-conditioned luxury interior (1st and 2nd floors, 440 seats combined) for stunning photography and cool comfort.
  • International seafood buffet with over 30 dishes — river prawns, New Zealand mussels, salmon sashimi, sushi, Chicken Karaage, grilled beef steak, green curry, lasagna, Tom Yum, Pad Thai, kimchi, Thai coconut ice cream, full dessert station. More variety than any other dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya.
  • Rooftop bar with 360° views — dedicated bar on the open-air rooftop deck. Order the Infinite Opulence — the ship's signature cocktail made with Suntory Kaku whisky, Amaretto, apple juice, lime, and syrup.
  • Underwater hull lighting — The Opulence is illuminated from below the waterline at night, casting a glow on the river surface. From the rooftop looking down, it is one of the more unusual and beautiful sights of the evening.
  • Duo live band performing throughout the evening — international pop, jazz standards, and romantic ballads. Requests welcome. Visible from the upper deck and rooftop.
  • Wat Arun — the Temple of Dawn — seen from the water at night. The 82-metre porcelain-covered prang appears on the port (left) side approximately 45 minutes after departure, fully illuminated, at river level.
  • Grand Palace complex illuminated from the Chao Phraya — 218,000 square metres of royal architecture positioned on this exact riverbank since King Rama I founded Bangkok in 1782. The palace was built to face the river because the Chao Phraya was Southeast Asia's highway.
  • Birthday and anniversary mini-cake arranged on request — tell us at booking, we notify the cruise team by 18:00 day-before, dedicated cake waiting at the table. Complimentary. The kind of detail that turns a dinner into a memory.
  • Elevator access between all three decks — accessible for guests with reduced mobility, families with young children, and anyone who simply wants to move freely between the atmospheres throughout the evening.

The Opulence Cruise has been operating nightly since its launch in November 2023 as the newest flagship vessel on the Chao Phraya — and the detail that most reviews miss is that this ship is genuinely two different experiences depending on where you sit. Not better or worse. Different. The rooftop at night is dark. That is the point. Battery-powered candles on the tables, the open Bangkok sky above, the city's skyline turning around you as the ship moves. The mood is intimate rather than spectacular — you are not in a bright dining room looking at a view, you are in the view, part of the night.

The interior is the opposite. The upper deck of The Opulence is decorated at a level that most Bangkok restaurants do not match — genuine luxury furnishings, considered lighting, a setting that is visually remarkable and consistently generates the kind of photographs that require no editing. Air-conditioned throughout. For visitors arriving in Bangkok's hot season — March through May especially — the interior is not a compromise. It is the right choice. Cool, beautiful, completely comfortable for the full two hours fifteen minutes.

The buffet spans 30+ dishes across every cuisine you would expect and several you would not. The kimchi. The lasagna. The Chicken Karaage alongside the river prawns and the New Zealand mussels. The spicy stir-fried spaghetti next to the Pad Thai with dried prawns. This is a genuinely international kitchen, not a Thai buffet with token Western additions. The dessert station includes Thai coconut ice cream and assorted cakes alongside seasonal fruits and Thai sweets. Vegetarian options are clearly labelled and plentiful — the dedicated salad bar alone covers a full plate.

The single most consistent complaint about The Opulence on Viator, GetYourGuide, and TripAdvisor — every five-star review mentions it — is chaotic check-in and boarding. This is not the ship's fault; it is the reality of a 710-passenger vessel, several competing cruises at the same pier, and a 90-minute check-in window all collapsing into the same boarding moment. We solve this by briefing you in writing before you arrive: exactly where to go (Pier 1 counter, not Pier 2), what to show, what to say, and a WhatsApp number to message if anything goes wrong at the pier. This alone is worth booking with us rather than an anonymous OTA.

The bar runs the full length of the rooftop. Beers from ฿150, cocktails from ฿240 — the signature Infinite Opulence (Suntory Kaku whisky, Amaretto, apple juice, lime juice, syrup — ฿320) is the obvious order on a ship with this name. Mocktails ฿160 for guests who prefer them. Whisky by the glass or bottle for those who want to make a night of it. All prices include 7% VAT and 10% service charge as stated on the menu — nothing to calculate at the end.

At 710 passengers across three decks, The Opulence is the largest vessel currently operating on the Chao Phraya as a dedicated dinner cruise. The hull size has a practical consequence that no one talks about: it is remarkably stable. Guests who avoid boat trips due to motion sensitivity consistently report that they felt nothing. The river does not move this ship in any way that registers.

Please note - Read Important (Click to expand)
  • ⚠️ Check-in is at ICONSIAM Pier 1 counter (18:00–19:30), boarding is at Pier 2 (19:30 onwards). These are different piers — this is the single most common point of confusion and the reason chaotic boarding appears in so many OTA reviews. We brief you on this before the day.
  • ⚠️ Departure is at 20:00 sharp from ICONSIAM Pier 2. The ship does not wait for late arrivals. Board by 19:50 at the latest.
  • ROOFTOP EDGE SEATS (3F EDGE in the ship's booking system) — the rim-facing rooftop seats are the most requested on the ship and are fully booked 1–2 weeks in advance during high season (November–February). Seats are pre-allocated — arriving early at the pier does not secure them. Request rooftop edge seats at the time of booking with us and we will pass the request to the cruise team. Not guaranteed but we always try.
  • BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY CAKE — we must notify the cruise team by 18:00 the day before your sailing. If you tell us at the time of booking, we handle this automatically. Same-day notifications result in a buffet slice only, not a dedicated mini-cake. Tell us the occasion and the guest's name when you book.
  • ICONSIAM Pier 1/2 is accessible by BTS Gold Line (Charoen Nakhon station, 5-minute walk), by the free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry from Saphan Taksin BTS station (every 15–20 minutes, 10-minute crossing), or by Grab and taxi. Evening traffic from Sukhumvit to ICONSIAM can be 30–60 minutes. If in doubt, book hotel transfer with us.
  • ICONSIAM mall offers 3 hours free parking for guests with a stamped cruise ticket — show the ticket at the information counter on floor G to validate.
  • The rooftop deck is open-air for the full 2 hours 15 minutes. Bangkok evenings in hot season (March–May) are warm even after dark. The 1st and 2nd floor decks are air-conditioned throughout. For visitors sensitive to heat, the upper deck interior is the more comfortable choice without any compromise on the experience.
  • RAIN POLICY — The Opulence operates as scheduled throughout the rainy season with no cancellations due to rain. Rooftop guests are relocated to the 1st or 2nd floor during heavy rain and can return to the rooftop once the weather clears (allow 15 minutes for table reset). Rooftop seat requests cannot be guaranteed following a weather-related relocation.
  • CORKAGE — Bringing beer on board is not permitted. Wine or liquor may be brought with a ฿500 per bottle corkage charge.
  • Vegetarian options are included in the standard buffet — all dishes are labelled. Notify us at booking for any specific dietary requirements and we will inform the kitchen.
  • Food does not contain pork — the kitchen is pork-free for the standard buffet.
  • Drink prices on board include 7% VAT and 10% service charge — no additional charges at the end of the evening.
  • VIP Room is available for private group dining — contact us on WhatsApp before booking for VIP Room rates, capacity, and what is included.

What to Bring — Don't Forget These

  • ✅ Smart casual outfit — this is a luxury ship. Light shirt or dress, trousers or a skirt, clean shoes. The interior deck especially rewards dressing well — the decoration makes everything you wear look better in photographs.
  • ✅ A light layer for the rooftop — the open-air deck feels cooler at river speed, especially from November to February. A thin jacket or wrap is enough.
  • ✅ Camera or phone fully charged — Wat Arun from the river at night, the upper deck observation area, the luxury interior of the 2F, the underwater hull glow seen from the pier on arrival. You will use every memory card.
  • ✅ Cash or card for drinks at the bar — welcome drink and water are included, everything else is purchased on board. Cocktails from ฿240, beers from ฿150, Infinite Opulence ฿320. Card payment accepted.
  • ✅ Your booking confirmation — digital WhatsApp message or email accepted. Show at the Pier 1 check-in counter between 18:00 and 19:30.
  • ✅ Your passport (for child tickets) — the cruise team verifies child age 4–10 at check-in.
  • 💡 SEAT TIP: The rooftop and the interior are both genuinely worth your time — not one better than the other, just different moods. If you are celebrating something romantic and want the open Bangkok night, go to the rooftop. If you want beautiful photographs in a luxury setting with air-conditioning, go to the 2F upper deck interior. You can move between them freely all evening using the elevator.
  • 💡 PHOTO TIP: The front of the 2F upper deck has an open-air outdoor section with an uninterrupted forward view along the river. No tables, no obstruction. Walk there when Wat Arun appears on the port side and when the Rama VIII Bridge approaches.
  • 💡 COCKTAIL TIP: Order the Infinite Opulence (Suntory Kaku whisky, Amaretto, apple juice, lime, syrup — ฿320) at the rooftop bar. It is the ship's signature drink and it is genuinely good.

Cancellation Policy

  • We do not cancel confirmed bookings due to low numbers. The Opulence Cruise operates every night of the year including weekends and public holidays.
  • Cancellation due to severe weather or vessel technical issues is extremely rare — in this case a full refund is provided. The cruise operates as scheduled through Bangkok's rainy season with no rain cancellations.
  • ICONSIAM Pier 1 — check-in (18:00–19:30)

    • Check-in opens at 18:00 and closes at 19:30. Pier 1 counter — not Pier 2. This is the single most common source of confusion; we brief you before the day.

    • Rooftop edge seat requests are pre-communicated to the cruise team when you book with us. Confirm at the counter.

    • Rooftop edge (3F EDGE) fills earliest — board promptly if this is your preference.
    • Board by 19:50 at the latest. The ship departs at 20:00 sharp.

Wat Arun — approximately 20:45, port side

    • The Temple of Dawn appears on the port (left) side approximately 45 minutes after departure.
    • 82 metres of hand-set Chinese porcelain fully illuminated — best view in Bangkok from the water at night.
    • Best positions: rooftop port rim, 2F bow outdoor area, or port-side 2F windows.
    • The ship passes within approximately 50 metres — close enough to see the porcelain surface detail.

    • Grand Palace complex appears starboard — fully illuminated white and gold spires. Built on this site in 1782 by King Rama I.

    What Actually Happens

    1

Getting to ICONSIAM and checking in at Pier 1 — this is where most guests get confused

The single most common point of confusion on The Opulence Cruise is the pier. Check-in is at ICONSIAM Pier 1 counter (ground floor, riverside, near the large shopping mall's main river entrance). Boarding is at Pier 2, a short walk away. Every major OTA has reviews describing 'chaotic boarding' — and almost every one is actually describing the Pier 1-to-Pier 2 confusion. We send you written instructions the day before with the exact counter location and what to show. Check-in window is 18:00 to 19:30. The earlier you arrive within that window, the calmer the process — from 19:15 onwards, three cruises' worth of passengers converge on the same pier area. Show your booking confirmation (WhatsApp screenshot or email is fine), collect your wristband, and walk the covered waterfront to Pier 2. The ship is hard to miss — it is the largest vessel on the river, with underwater hull lighting already glowing before you step on board. Getting to ICONSIAM itself: BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon (5-minute walk to the pier) is the simplest. The free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry from Saphan Taksin BTS station runs every 15–20 minutes and drops you directly at the pier. Grab or taxi works but allow 30–60 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic. If you book hotel transfer with us, your driver handles all of this — pickup at 19:00 for 19:30 pier arrival, no guesswork.

    2

Choosing your deck — rooftop, upper interior, or lower deck

The Opulence is a 710-passenger, 3-deck vessel. Each deck is a genuinely different experience — this is not a ship where one seat is clearly better than another. The 3rd floor rooftop (260 seats) is entirely open-air. Battery-powered candles on the tables, the Bangkok sky above, the city turning around you as the ship moves. The atmosphere is dark and intimate — you are in the view, not looking at it. The 3F EDGE seats along the rooftop rim are the most sought-after on the ship and book out 1–2 weeks ahead in high season. The 2nd floor upper deck (260 seats) is fully air-conditioned with panoramic windows, beautifully decorated interior, and an open-air bow section at the front for photography. Genuinely worth photographing — the décor matches luxury hotel standards. The 1st floor lower deck (180 seats) is also air-conditioned, closer to the buffet, and notably less crowded at mealtime. Guests with young children or anyone sensitive to motion often prefer 1F. The elevator runs between all three decks — you can move between atmospheres freely throughout the evening. For visitors in Bangkok's hot season (March through May), the 2F air-conditioned deck is the most comfortable choice. For couples on a romantic night, the rooftop is the better choice if weather permits. Both are exceptional.

    3

The 30+ dish international seafood buffet — what to eat first

The buffet opens within five minutes of departure and stays open until approximately 30 minutes before return — you are not rushed. The smart approach: seafood first while the grills are fresh. River prawns and New Zealand mussels on ice. Salmon sashimi and sushi from the Japanese Zone. Chicken Karaage. Grilled prawns. Then the main dishes — this is where the menu diversity genuinely surprises: green curry with chicken, stir-fried seafood in curry powder, steamed seabass with lemon sauce, beef stew, Hamburg steak with mushroom cream sauce, lasagna, stir-fried spaghetti with chilli paste (unexpected and very good), Pad Thai with dried prawns, fried rice, steamed rice. Soups: creamy potato soup and Tom Yum with prawns. Salads and appetizers: Nicoise salad, Hawaiian salad, assorted canapé, Thai-style glass noodle salad, kimchi, Chinese salad. Vegetarian options are clearly labelled. The kitchen is pork-free. Desserts: assorted cakes, Thai desserts, seasonal fresh fruits, and Thai coconut ice cream. The buffet is divided across 2–3 serving stations on different decks to reduce queues — the initial rush at 20:10 is the one moment when it can feel crowded. If you arrive at the buffet at 20:30 instead, the queue has gone and nothing is missing. We recommend this approach especially if you are on the rooftop — enjoy the ship leaving the pier first, then eat.

    4

Wat Arun at night — the moment the evening is built around

Approximately 45 minutes after departure, Wat Arun — the Temple of Dawn — appears on the port (left) side of the ship. The 82-metre porcelain-covered prang is fully illuminated against the dark sky, and the river approach gives you the full scale of the temple at water level, within approximately 50 metres, with nothing between you and it but open river. This is the photograph. Wat Arun was originally built in the 17th century during the Ayutthaya period, then extensively rebuilt and decorated with Chinese porcelain during the reign of King Rama III (1824–1851) — the shards that cover the prang were reclaimed from ships that had used broken porcelain as ballast when sailing from China. At ground level during the day, the porcelain detail is beautiful but the temple's sheer vertical scale is hard to appreciate. From the river at night, illuminated, with the dark sky behind it and the water reflecting the lights below, the full proportion is visible in a way that day visits never quite capture. From the rooftop, the temple fills the port horizon. From the 2F upper deck, you see it appearing from the dark ahead as the ship rounds the bend. From the 1F interior, it fills the port-side windows. Wherever you are on the ship, you will know when Wat Arun arrives — the live band typically pauses, conversations drop, and you will see phones going up at every table.

    5

Grand Palace, Rama VIII Bridge, the rooftop bar, and the return — the second half of the night

After Wat Arun, the ship continues upriver. The Grand Palace complex appears starboard — 218,000 square metres of royal architecture, white and gold spires fully illuminated against the night sky. King Rama I placed it on this exact riverbank in 1782 because the Chao Phraya was the highway of Southeast Asia — the palace's river face was its statement to the world. From the water you understand this in a way that standing inside it during the day does not entirely convey. The Rama VIII Bridge passes directly overhead shortly after — an asymmetric cable-stayed span completed in 2002, 300-metre main span, the eighty-four cables lit gold at night. From the rooftop you photograph the full span directly above you. From the 2F bow observation area, the bridge approach is framed perfectly ahead. This is also the right moment for the Infinite Opulence cocktail at the rooftop bar — Suntory Kaku whisky, Amaretto, apple juice, lime juice, syrup, ฿320. The ship reaches its turning point and begins the return south. Full buffet and rooftop bar remain open. The live band plays through the return. ICONSIAM's illuminated facade appears ahead — the 70-storey complex is itself one of Bangkok's most spectacular waterfront buildings at night. Docking at 22:15. Disembarkation 10–15 minutes. Hotel transfer guests: your driver is at the pier. ICONSIAM mall is fully open until midnight — the riverside restaurants and bars, the mall itself, all operating. If you want to keep the evening going, you can.

    Is This Right for You?

    Western couples and honeymooners

Yes — and the choice of atmosphere makes this especially right. Choose the candlelit rooftop for the dark, romantic Bangkok night experience: open sky, the temple glowing on the far bank, the city turning slowly around you. Choose the 2F air-conditioned interior for a beautifully decorated dinner setting that photographs extraordinarily well and stays cool throughout. For a honeymoon or anniversary, request the mini anniversary cake at booking — complimentary, arranged at your table.

Travellers looking for the best dinner cruise in Bangkok

The Opulence is the answer. Newest vessel (launched November 2023), largest hull on the river (most stable ride), most varied buffet (30+ dishes), two distinct atmospheres, rooftop bar, underwater hull lighting, and live entertainment across multiple decks. If you are researching Bangkok dinner cruises and want to stop researching, this is the one. Klook reviewers score it 4.6/5 — currently the highest-rated dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya.

    Families with children

Yes — child tickets ฿1,200 (ages 4–10), children under 4 complimentary. The elevator between decks means no steep stair-climbing with young children. The 1st floor lower deck with direct buffet access is practical for families with toddlers. Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the bridge at night are genuinely exciting for children. Birthday mini-cakes can be arranged for children's celebrations — tell us at booking.

    Groups and celebrations

Yes — birthdays, anniversaries, corporate evenings, friend group dinners. For 10 or more guests, contact us before booking for grouped seating arrangements. For private group dining, ask about the VIP Room. Mini birthday or anniversary cakes arranged on request — request at booking, not on the day. The live band takes song requests throughout.

Visitors arriving in Bangkok hot season (March–May)

Yes — and the 2F upper deck interior is the right seat choice. Bangkok evenings in hot season are warm even after dark. The 2F luxury interior is fully air-conditioned throughout the 2h15, beautifully decorated, and gives you a completely comfortable dinner with river views through the windows. This is not a compromise on the rooftop — it is genuinely the better choice for comfort in the heat.

    Instagram and photography travellers

Yes — this ship was designed to be photographed. The luxury interior of the 2F upper deck is a genuine set piece. The rooftop candlelight at night against the Bangkok skyline. The 2F bow outdoor observation area for forward-facing river landmarks. The underwater hull glow on the river surface. The Infinite Opulence cocktail. Bring a fully charged phone and good lighting conditions — the ship provides the rest.

    What Our Guests Say

"We did this on our last night in Bangkok and it was the perfect way to end the trip. We chose the rooftop for the romantic atmosphere — candlelit tables, Bangkok in every direction, Wat Arun appearing out of the dark while you're eating fresh prawns. My husband kept saying it didn't feel real. Book the rooftop edge seats through Trip Thai Tour when you book the tickets — those seats book out weeks ahead in high season and they sorted it for us in advance."

"We sat in the 2F air-conditioned interior because it was March and warm, and it was the right decision — genuinely beautiful room, the decoration is at a level you don't expect on a cruise ship. I have photos from that evening that look like they were taken in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The buffet was exceptional — the New Zealand mussels and the Chicken Karaage especially. We ordered the Infinite Opulence cocktail because we had to, and it was very good. Trip Thai Tour arranged our hotel transfer which made the whole evening stress-free."

"We did the Grand Palace tour with Trip Thai Tour during the day and the Opulence Cruise in the evening. Seeing the Grand Palace and Wat Arun from the river at night after having been inside them that morning is a genuinely different experience — you understand the scale and the river position in a way you can't from the ground. The 2F bow outdoor observation area is the best photography position on the ship — no one else was there for most of the evening, which is baffling because the shots are extraordinary."

"Travelled with two children aged 8 and 11. Both loved it — the Wat Arun moment especially, and the live band. We sat on the 1F lower deck for easy access to the buffet with kids, which worked perfectly. Trip Thai Tour arranged a birthday cake for our daughter — we told them when we booked and the cake was waiting at our table when we boarded. A small detail but it made the evening for her."

The Opulence Cruise price in 2026 is ฿1,800 per adult and ฿1,200 per child aged 4 to 10 years when booked through Trip Thai Tour. Children under 4 are complimentary (no allocated seat).

The price includes the full international seafood buffet with 30+ dishes, welcome drink, drinking water, duo live band performance, and access to all three decks including the candlelit open-air rooftop and the air-conditioned luxury interior. Special-event dates (Valentine's Day, Loy Krathong, Christmas, New Year's Eve) have different pricing and package structures — contact us via WhatsApp for rates.

The Opulence Cruise launched in November 2023 as the newest luxury dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River. At 710-passenger capacity across three decks, it is also the largest vessel currently operating as a dedicated dinner cruise in Bangkok.

No other dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya has launched since. The Wonderful Pearl, Grand Pearl, Chaophraya Princess, and White Orchid have all operated for 10+ years. The Opulence's hull size, underwater lighting, and modern decoration reflect this — it genuinely looks and feels different from the older vessels on the river.

They are two completely different atmospheres on the same ship — not one better than the other, just different moods. The 3F rooftop (260 seats) is dark, romantic, and candlelit — open-air, Bangkok's skyline in every direction, the temples appearing from the dark as the ship moves.

The 2F upper deck (260 seats) is a beautifully decorated air-conditioned luxury interior — genuinely worth photographing. The 1F lower deck (180 seats) is also air-conditioned and quieter at mealtime. For a romantic outdoor Bangkok night, choose the rooftop. For air-conditioned luxury with stunning interior photos, choose 2F. You can move between them freely all evening using the elevator.

Check-in is at ICONSIAM Pier 1 counter between 18:00 and 19:30. Boarding is at Pier 2 from 19:30 onwards. These are different piers connected by a short covered walkway — this is the single most common source of confusion on The Opulence, and it is the reason 'chaotic boarding' appears in almost every major OTA review.

When you book with Trip Thai Tour, we send you written instructions the day before with the exact Pier 1 counter location and what to show. If anything goes wrong at the pier, WhatsApp us on +66 89 949 6235 and we resolve it live.

Three main options. Option 1: BTS to Saphan Taksin, then the free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry — most reliable from Sukhumvit and Silom, runs every 15–20 minutes, 10-minute river crossing. Option 2: BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon station, 5-minute walk to Pier 1. Option 3: Grab or taxi — allow 30–60 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic.

We also offer private hotel transfer as an add-on from ฿800 per sedan — your driver collects you at 19:00 for 19:30 pier arrival. Book hotel transfer when you reserve your tickets. ICONSIAM offers 3 hours free parking with a stamped cruise ticket if you drive yourself.

Yes — and you should do this at the time of booking, not at the pier. Rooftop edge seats (3F EDGE in the ship's booking system) are the rim-facing seats along the outside of the rooftop deck, with the closest views of the river and skyline. They are pre-allocated by the cruise team and are fully booked 1–2 weeks in advance during high season (November–February). Arriving early at the pier does not secure them.

When you book with Trip Thai Tour, tell us you want rooftop edge seats and we pass the request to the cruise team. We cannot guarantee them, but we always request them on your behalf. Rooftop seats cannot be guaranteed during heavy rain — the cruise relocates rooftop guests to the 1F or 2F interior in rainy weather.

Yes — and it is complimentary. The Opulence Cruise provides a dedicated Mini Birthday Cake or Mini Anniversary Cake for guests who request it in advance. Tell us the occasion and the guest's name when you book with us — we notify the cruise team by their required 18:00 deadline the day before your sailing.

If we notify them on the day of the cruise itself, the kitchen can only arrange a buffet cake slice rather than a dedicated mini-cake. The live band will also sing happy birthday if you request it — this is commonly included in reviews as a highlight. Book in advance and it is sorted automatically.

The Opulence Cruise serves an international seafood buffet with over 30 dishes. Highlights include river prawns and New Zealand mussels on ice, salmon sashimi and sushi from the Japanese Zone, Chicken Karaage, beef stew, Hamburg steak with mushroom cream sauce, green curry with chicken, stir-fried seafood in curry powder, steamed seabass with lemon sauce, lasagna, stir-fried spaghetti with chilli paste, Pad Thai with dried prawns, fried and steamed rice, Tom Yum with prawns, creamy potato soup, Nicoise and Hawaiian salads, kimchi, Thai-style glass noodle salad, Thai desserts, seasonal fruits, assorted cakes, and Thai coconut ice cream.

The kitchen is pork-free. Vegetarian options are clearly labelled throughout the buffet. Menu may vary seasonally. The buffet opens 5 minutes after departure and stays open until 30 minutes before return — there is no rush.

The standard ticket includes a welcome drink, drinking water, coffee, and tea. All alcoholic beverages and other drinks are purchased separately at the on-board bar. Beers start from ฿150 (Chang, Singha), cocktails from ฿240, the signature Infinite Opulence cocktail is ฿320, mocktails ฿160, fruit juices ฿120. Whisky available by glass or bottle.

All on-board drink prices include 7% VAT and 10% service charge as stated on the menu — no additional charges at the end of the evening. Corkage policy: bringing beer on board is not permitted; wine or liquor may be brought with a ฿500 per bottle corkage charge. Special-event dates (Valentine's, NYE) typically include open bar packages at higher ticket prices.

Yes. Child tickets are ฿1,200 for ages 4–10, and children under 4 are complimentary (no allocated seat). The elevator between all three decks means no stair-climbing with young children. The 1st floor lower deck with direct buffet access is practical for families with toddlers.

Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the Rama VIII Bridge at night are genuinely exciting for children — and the live band frequently takes requests from younger guests. Birthday cakes can be arranged for children's celebrations — tell us at booking and we handle the notification to the cruise team. Passport verification is required at check-in for child tickets.

The Opulence is newer (launched November 2023), larger (710 passengers), and built to a higher specification. The comparable older vessels (Wonderful Pearl, Grand Pearl, Chaophraya Princess, White Orchid) have been operating for 10+ years on hulls designed for different standards.

Key differences: (1) Two distinct atmospheres — open-air rooftop AND air-conditioned luxury interior on the same ship. (2) 30+ dish buffet with genuinely international range — kimchi, lasagna, Chicken Karaage alongside the expected Thai dishes. (3) Underwater hull lighting creating the floating palace effect at night. (4) Larger hull = smoother ride, no motion for guests sensitive to boat movement. (5) Klook currently rates The Opulence 4.6/5, the highest Chao Phraya dinner cruise score. The older vessels remain good; The Opulence is the newest and currently the most acclaimed.

Yes. The Opulence operates as scheduled every night of the year, including throughout Bangkok's rainy season (June to October). Cruises are not cancelled due to rain. During heavy rain, guests on the open-air rooftop are relocated to the air-conditioned 1st or 2nd floor interior decks. When the weather clears, you can return to the rooftop — allow approximately 15 minutes for the cruise team to reset the table.

Rooftop seat requests cannot be guaranteed following a weather-related relocation. Cancellation due to severe weather or vessel technical issues is extremely rare — in those cases a full refund is provided. In rainy season we recommend bringing a light umbrella as the boarding area has limited sheltered space.

Yes — this is one of the practical advantages of the 710-passenger hull that no other review mentions. The Opulence is the largest and heaviest vessel currently operating as a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River. Guests who are typically sensitive to boat motion consistently report that they felt nothing on this ship.

If you are concerned, we recommend the 1st floor lower deck — closest to the waterline and the most stable position on the ship. The river itself (Chao Phraya) is a slow, wide waterway, not a coastal or ocean route. The ride is smooth throughout the full 2 hours 15 minutes.

The Infinite Opulence is The Opulence Cruise's signature cocktail and the obvious order on a vessel with this name. It is made with Suntory Kaku Japanese whisky, Amaretto, apple juice, lime juice, and syrup — ฿320 at the rooftop bar, inclusive of 7% VAT and 10% service charge.

Order it when Wat Arun appears on the port side, approximately 45 minutes after departure. The rooftop bar runs the full length of the 3rd floor deck with 360° views of the Bangkok skyline.

A cancellation fee of 100% applies if the booking is cancelled 2 days (48 hours) or less before the cruise date. For cancellations made more than 2 days in advance, please contact us via WhatsApp on +66 89 949 6235 to arrange a refund or reschedule.

We do not cancel confirmed bookings due to low numbers — the ship operates every night of the year. Cancellation due to severe weather or vessel technical issues is extremely rare; in those cases a full refund is provided. Birthday and anniversary cake requests: if you cancel and rebook, please confirm the cake request again for the new date so we can notify the cruise team by their 18:00 day-before deadline.
