The Opulence Cruise Bangkok — Luxury Rooftop Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River
Last updated: March 2026

There is a version of Bangkok that most visitors never see — the one that exists after dark, from the water. The Chao Phraya River at night is a completely different city: Wat Arun lit gold against the sky, the Grand Palace glowing white on the far bank, the Rama VIII Bridge traced in light above you, the illuminated hull of your ship casting its reflection across the river below.
The Opulence Cruise is Bangkok's most luxurious dinner cruise vessel — 70 metres long, three decks, two entirely different worlds on the same ship. Above: a candlelit open-air rooftop, dark and romantic, Bangkok's skyline turning slowly around you in the warm night air. Inside: a beautifully decorated luxury interior — the kind of room you want to photograph, the kind of setting you remember long after you leave Thailand. Over 30 dishes on the international seafood buffet, a duo live band playing throughout the evening, and a signature cocktail called the Infinite Opulence waiting at the rooftop bar.
Book with Trip Thai Tour from ฿1,800 per adult and ฿1,600 per child — buffet, welcome mocktail, live entertainment, and the full 2h15 cruise all included. No surprises at the pier. Private hotel transfer available as an add-on.

Tell us the occasion and the guest's name when you book.
The rooftop edge seats (ดาดฟ้าริม) face outward along the rim of the rooftop deck — the closest seats to the water and the Bangkok skyline. These are the most sought-after seats on the ship and are fully booked weeks in advance during high season. Request at booking and we will do our best to secure them. Not guaranteed but we always try.
A private room on board for exclusive group dining — perfect for corporate events, intimate celebrations, or groups wanting complete privacy on the river. Contact us directly for VIP Room pricing, capacity, and availability.
The Opulence Cruise Bangkok — Luxury Rooftop Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River
Bangkok's most impressive dinner cruise — a 70-metre, 3-deck vessel with a candlelit open-air rooftop and stunning luxury interior. International seafood buffet with over 30 dishes and a duo live band. Departs ICONSIAM Pier 2 every evening at 20:00. Two completely different atmospheres on the same ship — choose your mood.
Highlights:
- Two completely different atmospheres on one ship — the candlelit open-air rooftop for a dark, romantic Bangkok night, or the luxury-decorated air-conditioned interior for stunning photography and comfortable dining. Choose based on your mood, the weather, or what matters most about your evening.
- International seafood buffet with over 30 dishes — river prawns, New Zealand mussels, salmon sashimi, sushi, Chicken Karaage, grilled beef steak, green curry with chicken, lasagna, spicy stir-fried spaghetti, Tom Yum, Pad Thai with dried prawns, kimchi, Thai coconut ice cream, and a full dessert station. More variety than any other dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya.
- Rooftop bar with 360° views — a dedicated bar on the open-air rooftop deck, not just a waiter with a drinks tray. Order the Infinite Opulence, the ship's signature cocktail, and watch Wat Arun materialise out of the dark as the ship rounds the river bend.
- Upper deck outdoor photo spot — an open-air section at the front of the upper deck with premium views and an uninterrupted perspective forward along the river. One of the best photography spots on the ship for capturing the Bangkok skyline.
- Underwater hull lighting — The Opulence Cruise is illuminated from below the waterline at night, casting a glow on the river surface as the ship moves. From the pier and from the riverbanks, the effect is a floating palace. From the rooftop looking down, it is one of the more unusual and beautiful sights of the evening.
- Live entertainment on every deck — the duo live band performs throughout the evening with international hits and Thai classics, taking requests. The multi-deck layout means the entertainment is experienced differently from every level of the ship.
- Wat Arun — the Temple of Dawn — seen from the water at night. The 82-metre porcelain-covered prang appears on the port side approximately 45 minutes after departure, fully illuminated, at river level. There is no better view of Wat Arun available in Bangkok without a private boat.
- Birthday and anniversary mini-cake arranged on request — tell us at booking, we notify the cruise team, your table has a dedicated mini-cake when you board. No extra charge. The kind of detail that turns a dinner cruise into a memory.
- 70-metre hull — one of the most stable dinner cruise vessels on the Chao Phraya. Guests sensitive to motion will not feel the river on this ship.
- Elevator access between all three decks — no climbing steep stairs between the interior and the rooftop. Accessible for guests with reduced mobility, families with young children, and anyone who simply wants to move freely between the two atmospheres throughout the evening.
Tour Program
Check-in opens at ICONSIAM Pier 2
Show your booking confirmation — digital WhatsApp or email confirmation is accepted. If you requested rooftop edge seats, your seating preference has already been communicated to the crew. Go directly to your chosen deck on boarding.
Board and choose your world
Two distinct experiences to choose from: the candlelit open-air rooftop — dark, romantic, Bangkok in every direction — or the luxury interior of the upper deck, beautifully decorated, air-conditioned, and genuinely worth photographing. You can move between them freely throughout the evening. Rooftop edge seats along the rim fill earliest — board promptly if this is your preference.
Departure from ICONSIAM Pier 2
The Opulence Cruise departs at exactly 20:00. The ship does not wait for late arrivals. The welcome mocktail is served as the vessel moves away from the pier. ICONSIAM's illuminated facade recedes behind you. The river opens ahead. Bangkok at night begins.
Buffet opens — over 30 dishes from the first minute
The international seafood buffet opens immediately after departure and remains open until 30 minutes before return. River prawns, New Zealand mussels, sashimi and sushi, Chicken Karaage, grilled steak, Thai curries, Pad Thai, lasagna, kimchi, soups, salads, and a full dessert station. The duo live band begins on deck.
Wat Arun — port side, fully illuminated
The Temple of Dawn appears on the left side of the ship, fully lit, at river level. The 82-metre porcelain prang glows against the dark sky. Best viewed from the rooftop rim or the upper deck outdoor area. This is the photograph most guests have come for.
Live Band & Atmosphere
The duo live band continues their performance with a mix of international pop, jazz, and classic hits. The atmosphere on the candlelit rooftop becomes increasingly romantic as the city lights reflect off the river surface.
Grand Palace and Rama VIII Bridge
The Grand Palace appears starboard — white and gold spires fully illuminated against the night sky. Shortly after, the Rama VIII Bridge passes overhead. From the rooftop, photograph the full span directly above you. From the upper deck viewpoint, the bridge approach is framed perfectly ahead.
Upper river — continued dining, live band, rooftop bar
The ship continues upriver, turns, and begins the return journey south. Full buffet and rooftop bar remain open. The live band plays through the return. This is the time to order the Infinite Opulence cocktail at the rooftop bar, or enjoy the forward view on the return run toward ICONSIAM's lights.
Return to ICONSIAM Pier 2
Docking at 22:15. Disembarkation takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Hotel transfer guests: your driver is at the pier. ICONSIAM is fully open until midnight. The Chao Phraya does not close at 22:15.

The Opulence Cruise has been operating nightly since its launch as the newest flagship vessel on the Chao Phraya — and the detail that most reviews miss is that this ship is genuinely two different experiences depending on where you sit. Not better or worse. Different.
The rooftop at night is dark. That is the point. Battery-powered candles on the tables, the open Bangkok sky above, the city's skyline turning around you as the ship moves. The mood is intimate rather than spectacular — you are not in a bright dining room looking at a view, you are in the view, part of the night. Wat Arun appearing on the port side in the dark, with nothing between you and the temple but 50 metres of river, is the kind of moment that does not need a filter.
The interior is the opposite. The upper deck of The Opulence Cruise is decorated at a level that most Bangkok restaurants do not match — genuine luxury furnishings, considered lighting, a setting that is visually remarkable and consistently generates the kind of photographs that require no editing. Air-conditioned throughout. For visitors arriving in Bangkok's hot season — March through May especially — the interior is not a compromise. It is the right choice. Cool, beautiful, and completely comfortable for the full two hours fifteen minutes.
The buffet spans 30 dishes across every cuisine you would expect and several you would not. The kimchi. The lasagna. The Chicken Karaage alongside the river prawns and the New Zealand mussels. The spicy stir-fried spaghetti next to the Pad Thai with dried prawns. This is a genuinely international kitchen, not a Thai buffet with token Western additions. The dessert station includes Thai coconut ice cream and assorted cakes alongside seasonal fruits and Thai sweets.
The bar runs the full length of the rooftop. Beers from ฿150, cocktails from ฿240 — the signature Infinite Opulence (Suntory Kaku, Amaretto, Apple Juice, Lime Juice, Syrup) is the obvious order on a ship with this name. Mocktails at ฿160 for guests who prefer them. Whisky by the glass or bottle for those who want to make a night of it. All prices include VAT and service charge — nothing to calculate at the end.
At 70 metres, The Opulence is among the largest vessels on the Chao Phraya. The hull size has a practical consequence that no one talks about: it is remarkably stable. Guests who avoid boat trips due to motion sensitivity consistently report that they felt nothing. The river does not move this ship in any way that registers.
Please note - Read Important (Click to expand)▼
- ⚠️ Departure is at 20:00 sharp from ICONSIAM Pier 2. The ship does not wait for late arrivals. Check-in opens at 19:30 — please board by 19:50 at the latest.
- ROOFTOP EDGE SEATS (ดาดฟ้าริม) — the rim-facing rooftop seats are the most requested on the ship and are fully booked weeks in advance during high season (November–February). These seats are pre-allocated by the cruise team — arriving early at the pier does not guarantee them. Request rooftop edge seats at the time of booking with us and we will pass the request to the cruise team. We cannot guarantee them but we always try.
- BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY CAKE — we must notify the cruise team by 18:00 the day before your sailing. If you tell us at the time of booking, we handle this automatically. Same-day notifications result in a buffet slice only, not a dedicated mini-cake. Tell us the occasion and the guest's name when you book.
- ICONSIAM Pier 2 is accessible by BTS Gold Line (Charoen Nakhon station, 5-minute walk), by the free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry from Saphan Taksin BTS station (every 15–20 minutes, 10-minute crossing), or by Grab and taxi. Evening traffic from Sukhumvit to ICONSIAM can be 30–50 minutes. If in doubt, book hotel transfer with us.
- The rooftop deck is open-air for the full 2 hours 15 minutes. Bangkok evenings in hot season (March–May) are warm even after dark. The interior decks are air-conditioned throughout. For visitors sensitive to heat, the upper deck interior is the more comfortable choice without any compromise on the experience.
- The buffet menu is set by the cruise team and may vary by date. The dishes listed represent the standard menu as of March 2026 — the core seafood and international sections are consistent, and seasonal or occasional substitutions may occur.
- Drink prices include 7% VAT and 10% service charge as stated on the menu — no additional charges at the end of the evening.
- The Opulence Cruise operates every evening including weekends and public holidays. It is not cancelled due to low bookings. Cancellation due to severe weather is extremely rare.
- VIP Room is available for private group dining. Contact us on WhatsApp before booking for VIP Room rates, capacity, and what is included.
What to Bring — Don't Forget These
- • ✅ Smart casual outfit — this is a luxury ship. Light shirt or dress, trousers or a skirt, clean shoes. The interior deck especially rewards dressing well — the decoration makes everything you wear look better in photographs.
- • ✅ A light layer for the rooftop — the open-air deck feels cooler at river speed, especially from November to February. A thin jacket or wrap is enough.
- • ✅ Camera or phone fully charged — Wat Arun from the river at night, the upper deck photo spot, the luxury interior of the upper deck, the underwater hull glow seen from the pier on arrival. You will use every memory card.
- • ✅ Baht for drinks at the bar — the welcome mocktail and water are included, everything else is purchased on board. Cocktails from ฿240, beers from ฿150, mocktails ฿160. Card payment accepted.
- • ✅ Your booking confirmation — digital is fine, show at pier check-in.
- • 💡 SEAT TIP: The rooftop and the interior are both genuinely worth your time — not one better than the other, just different moods. If you are celebrating something romantic and want the open Bangkok night, go to the rooftop. If you want beautiful photographs in a luxury setting with air-conditioning, go to the upper deck interior. You can move between them freely all evening using the elevator.
- • 💡 PHOTO TIP: The open-air upper deck observation area is a great spot for forward-facing photography. No tables, no obstruction — just the river ahead and the city closing in as you approach each landmark. Walk there when Wat Arun appears and when the Rama VIII Bridge approaches.
- • 💡 COCKTAIL TIP: Order the Infinite Opulence (Suntory Kaku, Amaretto, Apple Juice, Lime, Syrup — ฿320) at the rooftop bar. It is the ship's signature drink and it is genuinely good.
Cancellation Policy
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 2 days or less before the cruise date.
- For cancellations made more than 2 days in advance, please contact us via WhatsApp to discuss your options. We will always try to rebook you onto a later date at no additional charge.

Getting to ICONSIAM Pier 2 — three options
Option 1 — BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin (Silom Line), then the free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry. Runs every 15–20 minutes in the evening, 10-minute river crossing, lands you directly at the pier. The most reliable option from Sukhumvit and Silom. Option 2 — BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon station, 5-minute walk to ICONSIAM Pier 2. Option 3 — Grab or taxi. ICONSIAM is well-known to every Bangkok driver. Allow 30–50 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic. Option 4 — book hotel transfer with us. Your driver collects you at 19:00 and handles everything.
Arrival and check-in — 19:30
Check-in is at ICONSIAM Pier 2. Show your booking confirmation — a WhatsApp screenshot or email is fine. The crew checks you in and you board. This is the moment to go directly to your chosen deck. Rooftop edge seat request: the crew has already been notified if you requested these at booking — confirm with the pier staff and they will direct you. If you are going to the interior upper deck, take the elevator and find your table. The ship comes alive in this 30-minute window before departure — the river is busy, the pier is atmospheric, and the crew are preparing the buffet.
Departure at 20:00 — the river opens
At 20:00, The Opulence Cruise moves away from ICONSIAM Pier 2 and the city immediately becomes something else entirely. From the rooftop, the effect is immediate — Bangkok surrounds you on both banks, the river ahead is dark and wide, and the ship's underwater hull lighting begins to glow on the water below. The welcome mocktail arrives. The buffet opens. The live band begins. Within the first five minutes you understand why this evening is worth doing.
The buffet — what to eat and in what order
The smart approach to the Opulence buffet is seafood first while the grills are fresh — river prawns, New Zealand mussels, salmon sashimi from the Japanese Zone, and grilled prawns from the seafood station. Then the main dishes: green curry with chicken, stir-fried seafood in curry powder, Chicken Karaage, beef stew, lasagna, or the spicy spaghetti if you want something unexpected at 20:00 on the Chao Phraya River. Pad Thai with dried prawns. Tom Yum soup. The kimchi. Then dessert: Thai coconut ice cream, assorted cakes, seasonal fruits. The buffet stays open until 30 minutes before docking — there is no rush.
Wat Arun at night — the moment the evening is built around
Approximately 45 minutes after departure, Wat Arun — the Temple of Dawn — appears on the port (left) side of the ship. The 82-metre porcelain prang is fully illuminated and the river approach gives you the full scale of the temple at water level, within 50 metres, with nothing between you and it. This is the photograph. From the rooftop, the temple fills the port horizon. From the upper deck viewpoint, you see it appearing from the dark ahead as the ship rounds the bend. From the interior, it fills the port-side windows. Wherever you are on the ship, you will know when Wat Arun arrives.
Live Band & Modern Atmosphere
The Opulence Cruise focuses on a sophisticated, contemporary vibe. A talented duo live band performs a wide repertoire of international hits, jazz standards, and modern Thai songs throughout the evening. Unlike other cruises that feature traditional dance, The Opulence maintains a consistent luxury lounge atmosphere that perfectly complements the ship's modern design and the romantic night views. The music is perfectly balanced to allow for both enjoyment and conversation.
The Grand Palace, Rama VIII Bridge, and the rooftop bar
The Grand Palace complex appears starboard — 218,000 square metres of royal architecture built deliberately to face the river, fully illuminated at night. King Rama I placed it on this exact riverbank in 1782 because the Chao Phraya was the highway of Southeast Asia — the palace's river face was its statement to the world. From the water you understand this in a way that standing inside it during the day does not entirely convey. The Rama VIII Bridge passes overhead shortly after — from the rooftop you photograph the full asymmetric span directly above you. This is also the right moment for the Infinite Opulence cocktail at the rooftop bar.
The upper deck photo spot — the ship's best-kept secret
Walk to the front of the upper deck and enjoy the open-air observation area — a no-table zone at the forward point of the ship with a clear, unobstructed view directly ahead along the river. It is the best photography position on the ship for forward-facing shots: the city closing in, the bridge approaching, the river disappearing into the dark ahead. At this end of the ship, the hull lighting below is also most visible — the water glows as the hull passes through it.
Return to ICONSIAM and the end of the evening
The ship returns to ICONSIAM Pier 2 at 22:15. Disembarkation takes 10–15 minutes. Hotel transfer guests: your driver is waiting. ICONSIAM mall is fully open until midnight — the riverside area, the restaurants, and the bars are all operating. The evening ends at one of Bangkok's most spectacular waterfront locations. The Chao Phraya keeps moving long after you have stepped off.
Is This Right for You?
✦ Western couples and honeymooners
Yes — and the choice of atmosphere makes this especially right. Choose the candlelit rooftop for the dark, romantic Bangkok night experience: open sky, the temple glowing on the far bank, the city turning slowly around you. Choose the luxury interior for a beautifully decorated dinner setting that photographs extraordinarily well and stays cool throughout. For a honeymoon or anniversary, request the mini anniversary cake at booking — a complimentary dedicated cake arranged at your table, no extra charge.
✦ Travellers who want the best dinner cruise in Bangkok
The Opulence is the answer. Newest vessel, longest hull (most stable), most varied buffet (30+ dishes), two distinct atmospheres, rooftop bar, upper deck photo spot, underwater hull lighting, and live entertainment on multiple decks. If you are researching Bangkok dinner cruises and want to stop researching — this is the one.
✦ Families with children
Yes — child tickets at ฿1,600 (ages 3–11), children under 3 complimentary. The elevator between decks means no steep stairclimbing with young children. The lower deck with direct buffet access is practical for families with toddlers. Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the bridge at night are genuinely exciting for children. Birthday mini-cakes can be arranged for children's celebrations — tell us at booking.
✦ Groups and celebrations
Yes — birthdays, anniversaries, corporate evenings, friend group dinners. For 10 or more guests, contact us before booking for grouped seating arrangements. For private group dining, ask about the VIP Room. Mini birthday or anniversary cakes arranged on request — request at booking, not on the day.
✦ Visitors arriving in Bangkok hot season (March–May)
Yes — and the interior upper deck is the right seat choice. Bangkok evenings in hot season are warm even after dark. The upper deck luxury interior is fully air-conditioned throughout the 2h15, beautifully decorated, and gives you a completely comfortable dinner with river views through the windows. This is not a compromise on the rooftop — it is genuinely the better choice for comfort in the heat.
✦ Instagram and photography travellers
Yes — this ship was designed to be photographed. The luxury interior of the upper deck is a genuine set piece. The rooftop candlelight at night against the Bangkok skyline. The upper deck outdoor spots for capture the river landmarks. The underwater hull glow on the river surface. The Infinite Opulence cocktail. Bring a fully charged phone and good lighting conditions — the ship provides the rest.
What Our Guests Say
"We did this on our last night in Bangkok and it was the perfect way to end the trip. We chose the rooftop for the romantic atmosphere — candlelit tables, Bangkok in every direction, Wat Arun appearing out of the dark while you're eating fresh prawns. My husband kept saying it didn't feel real. Book the rooftop edge seats through Trip Thai Tour when you book the tickets — those seats book out weeks ahead in high season and they sorted it for us in advance."
"We sat in the interior upper deck because it was March and warm, and it was the right decision — genuinely beautiful room, the decoration is at a level you don't expect on a cruise ship. I have photos from that evening that look like they were taken in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The buffet was exceptional — the New Zealand mussels and the Chicken Karaage especially. We ordered the Infinite Opulence cocktail because we had to, and it was very good. Trip Thai Tour arranged our hotel transfer which made the whole evening stress-free."
"We did the Grand Palace tour with Trip Thai Tour during the day and the Opulence Cruise in the evening. Seeing the Grand Palace and Wat Arun from the river at night after having been inside them that morning is a genuinely different experience — you understand the scale and the river position in a way you can't from the ground. The upper deck outdoor spots are the best photography positions on the ship — no one else was there for most of the evening, which is baffling because the shots are extraordinary."
"Travelled with two children aged 8 and 11. Both loved it — the Wat Arun moment especially, and the live band. We sat on the lower deck for easy access to the buffet with kids, which worked perfectly. Trip Thai Tour arranged a birthday cake for our daughter's daughter's birthday — we told them when we booked and the cake was waiting at our table when we boarded. A small detail but it made the evening for her."

Frequently
Asked
Questions
The Opulence Cruise price when booked through Trip Thai Tour is ฿1,800 per adult and ฿1,600 per child aged 3 to 11 years. Children under 3 are complimentary. The price includes the full international seafood buffet with 30+ dishes, welcome mocktail, drinking water, duo live band performance, and access to all three decks including the candlelit open-air rooftop and the luxury interior upper deck.
They are two completely different atmospheres on the same ship — not one better than the other, just different moods. The rooftop is dark, romantic, and candlelit — open-air, Bangkok's skyline in every direction, the temples appearing from the dark as the ship moves. The interior upper deck is a beautifully decorated luxury room — air-conditioned, stunning décor, and genuinely worth photographing. For a romantic outdoor Bangkok night, choose the rooftop. For air-conditioned luxury with interior photographs, choose the upper deck. You can move between them freely all evening using the elevator.
It is consistently rated the best dinner cruise in Bangkok by Western travellers as of 2026. The reasons: newest and largest vessel on the Chao Phraya (70 metres, most stable hull), most varied buffet (30+ dishes including New Zealand mussels, Chicken Karaage, kimchi, lasagna), two distinct atmospheres (rooftop vs luxury interior), rooftop bar, exclusive upper deck viewpoints, underwater hull lighting, and live entertainment on multiple decks. No other dinner cruise on the river currently offers this combination.
Three options. Option 1: BTS to Saphan Taksin, then the free ICONSIAM shuttle ferry — most reliable from Sukhumvit and Silom, runs every 15–20 minutes, 10-minute river crossing. Option 2: BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon station, 5-minute walk to the pier. Option 3: Grab or taxi — allow 30–50 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic. We also offer private hotel transfer as an add-on at ฿800/car — book when you reserve your tickets.
Yes — and you should do this at the time of booking, not at the pier. Rooftop edge seats (the rim-facing seats along the outside of the rooftop deck) are pre-allocated by the cruise team and are fully booked weeks in advance during high season (November–February). Arriving early at the pier does not secure them. When you book with us, tell us you want rooftop edge seats and we pass the request to the cruise team. We cannot guarantee them, but we always request them on your behalf.
Yes — and it is complimentary. The Opulence Cruise provides a dedicated Mini Birthday Cake or Mini Anniversary Cake for guests who request it in advance. Tell us the occasion and the guest's name when you book with us — we notify the cruise team by their required 18:00 deadline the day before your sailing. If we notify them on the day of the cruise itself, they can only arrange a buffet cake slice rather than a dedicated mini-cake. Book in advance and it is sorted automatically.
The Opulence Cruise serves an international seafood buffet with over 30 dishes. Highlights include: river prawns and New Zealand mussels on ice, salmon sashimi and sushi, Chicken Karaage, grilled beef steak, green curry with chicken, stir-fried seafood in curry powder, steamed seabass, lasagna, stir-fried spaghetti with chilli paste, Pad Thai with dried prawns, Tom Yum soup, creamy potato soup, kimchi, Nicoise and Hawaiian salads, Thai desserts, seasonal fruits, and Thai coconut ice cream. Menu may vary seasonally.

The ship has several dedicated zones for photography. The upper deck outdoor observation area at the front of the ship provides clear, forward-facing views of Wat Arun and the Rama VIII Bridge. The luxury-decorated air-conditioned interior is also a prime location for high-quality photos. Additionally, the open-air rooftop offers 360-degree views of the Bangkok skyline.
Yes. The upper deck (2nd floor) and lower deck (1st floor) are both fully air-conditioned. The rooftop (3rd floor) is entirely open-air. The ship has elevator access between all three decks so guests can move freely throughout the evening. For visitors in Bangkok's hot season (March to May), the interior upper deck is the more comfortable seat choice — luxury décor, cool air, and river views through panoramic windows.
The Opulence is newer, larger (70m vs shorter vessels), and more stable. The key differences: (1) Two atmospheres — romantic candlelit rooftop AND luxury decorated interior on the same ship. Royal Princess and White Orchid have a rooftop but not the same interior quality. (2) Buffet variety — 30+ dishes including New Zealand mussels, Chicken Karaage, kimchi, lasagna, and spicy spaghetti. (3) Viewpoint zones — dedicated photography areas including the upper deck front deck. (4) Underwater hull lighting — the floating palace effect at night. (5) Hull stability — the largest vessel means the smoothest ride.
Yes — this is one of the practical advantages of the 70-metre hull that no other review mentions. The Opulence is among the longest and heaviest vessels on the Chao Phraya River. Guests who are typically sensitive to boat motion consistently report that they felt nothing on this ship. The river ride is smooth throughout the full 2 hours 15 minutes.
The Infinite Opulence is the ship's signature cocktail and the obvious order on a vessel with this name. It is made with Suntory Kaku whisky, Amaretto, Apple Juice, Lime Juice, and Syrup — ฿320 at the rooftop bar, inclusive of VAT and service charge. Order it when Wat Arun appears on the port side.
