Why This is the Right "Day Off the Beach"

If you've already done the islands (Phi Phi, Hong, or 4 Islands), the Jungle Tour offers a completely different side of Krabi. Instead of speedboats and salt water, you get air-conditioned minivans, rainforest trails, and geothermal mineral baths.

Why We Start at 8:00 AM (And Why It Matters)

The Hot Springs Waterfall and Emerald Pool are Krabi's most popular mainland spots. By 11:00 AM, they are often saturated with tour buses. We depart at 8:00 AM specifically to put you in the Hot Springs before the rush and at the Emerald Pool just as the mid-morning crowd begins to arrive.

The 3 Highlights of the Day

1. Klong Thom Hot Springs Waterfall

A "natural jacuzzi" where geothermal water (40-42°C) cascades through limestone rock pools. The minerals in the water are said to be therapeutic, but the real draw is the relaxation of soaking in a warm waterfall surrounded by rainforest.

2. Emerald Pool & Blue Pool

Located inside the Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve, the Emerald Pool is a stunning turquoise swimming hole. A further 600m walk leads to the Blue Pool, an intensely electric-blue spring that looks almost neon against the jungle green (no swimming here due to unstable sands).

3. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Sua)

A working Buddhist monastery set in a valley of ancient trees and caves.

  • The Challenge: 1,260 steep steps to the summit Buddha at 278m elevation.
  • The Reward: 360-degree views of the Krabi countryside and the Andaman Sea.
  • The Honest Truth: The climb is hard. If you have knee issues or aren't feeling the workout, the ground-level "Wonderland" trail and the monks' caves are equally rewarding.

The famous 1,260 steps. It's a vertical challenge, but the golden Buddha at the top is one of Krabi's most iconic sights.

Honest Tips for the Day

  • Water Shoes are Essential: The limestone at the Hot Springs and the edges of the Emerald Pool are extremely slippery. Flip-flops are not enough; wear sandals with good grip or dedicated water shoes.
  • Tiger Cave Monkeys: The macaques at the base of the stairs are professionals. They will grab water bottles, sunglasses, and food. Keep your belongings zipped inside your bag and don't feed them.
  • Dress Code: To enter the temple buildings or reach the summit Buddha, shoulders and knees should be covered. A light sarong in your bag is the perfect solution.
  • National Park Fee: Keep ฿200 cash (THB) ready for the Emerald Pool gate. This is not included in the tour price to keep the booking cost transparent.

"The 1,260 steps were a killer but the view was insane. Trip Thai Tour were super honest about the difficulty, which we appreciated. The Hot Springs were the perfect way to start the morning before the crowds arrived. Highly recommend the 8 AM start!" — David M., Brisbane (2026)

The Hot Springs and Emerald Pool fill up by 10:30 AM. Arriving early is the single biggest factor between a calm, beautiful experience and a crowded one. Our 8 AM start is non-negotiable for quality.
