If you want an international and seafood dinner on the river — sashimi, river prawns, tenderloin steak — from a central, easy pier, the Bangkok dinner cruise to book is the Chao Phraya Princess International. This is the brand's international product, and it departs ICONSIAM, the riverside mall, rather than the Terminal 21 Rama 3 pier used by their Indian-buffet cruise. The buffet runs to a Japanese corner with sashimi and sushi, a seafood corner with river prawns and New Zealand mussels, a Thai signature line, tenderloin steak, truffle soup, and a dessert spread that includes panna cotta, crème brûlée and berry cheese cake.

The cruise sails from ICONSIAM at 19:30 and returns at 21:30: two hours past Wat Arun lit gold on the far bank, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, and under the illuminated Rama VIII Bridge, with a welcome drink and live music. It is the natural choice for couples, seafood lovers and worldwide travellers who want a varied international spread — and the more affordable international alternative to our newest luxury vessel, the Opulence, which leaves from the same ICONSIAM waterfront.

Book with Trip Thai Tour from ฿1,250 per adult and ฿1,100 per child — buffet, welcome drink and live music included, no surprise charges at the pier. ICONSIAM has more than one pier, so we confirm your exact check-in time and the correct pier when you book and send written directions before the day. Questions? WhatsApp +66 89 949 6235. Private round-trip hotel transfer available as an add-on.

The Chao Phraya Princess runs two different dinner cruises, and this is the international one — it is worth being clear about that up front, because the menus and the piers are different. The brand's Indian-buffet cruise departs the Terminal 21 Rama 3 pier; this international and seafood cruise departs ICONSIAM, the large riverside mall on the Thonburi bank. If Indian food is what you are after, our separate Chao Phraya Princess Indian page is the one to book; this page is the international, seafood-forward option.

The buffet is the reason to choose it. A Japanese corner serves sashimi and assorted sushi rolls; a seafood corner puts out river prawns and New Zealand mussels; and the mains run to tenderloin steak with gravy, grilled saba fish with soya sauce, penne with a choice of mushroom cream or beef bolognese sauce, baked spinach with cheese, stir-fried seafood in yellow curry and grilled lemongrass chicken. There is a Thai signature line too — Pad Thai with fresh shrimp and chicken Massaman curry — plus Tom Yum Kung, a notably good truffle soup, and a salad bar. For a cruise at this price, the sashimi and the seafood corner in particular are more than you usually get.

The dessert spread is unusually generous for a river cruise. Where most boats finish with fruit and a slice of cake, this one lays out panna cotta, crème brûlée, berry cheese cake, chocolate mousse, toffee cake, a fusion mamon cake, cold crepe and the Thai classic lod chong in syrup and coconut milk, with coffee and tea. It is the kind of spread that makes the second half of the evening, after the temples, worth lingering over.

Departing ICONSIAM is part of the appeal. It is the same premium, central waterfront our Opulence cruise uses, easy to reach by the BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon station or the free ICONSIAM shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier near Saphan Taksin, and surrounded by restaurants and shops that stay open late. The one thing to get right is the pier: ICONSIAM has more than one, and several cruises share the waterfront, so check-in confusion is the most common complaint here as at every busy Bangkok pier. We remove it by confirming your exact check-in time and the correct pier with you when you book, sending written directions the day before, and giving you a WhatsApp number to reach us on the night.

On the water it is a relaxed, classic two-hour evening cruise. The ship leaves ICONSIAM at 19:30, the buffet opens, and the live music plays as the city lights come up. About forty-five minutes in, Wat Arun appears illuminated on the bank, followed by the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew and then the Rama VIII Bridge overhead. The ship reaches its turning point and runs back, buffet and dessert still open, docking at ICONSIAM at 21:30 — where, if the evening has gone well, the mall is right there to keep it going.

If you want a newer, more premium vessel with a candlelit rooftop and a 30+ dish buffet from the same waterfront, compare the Opulence. If you want a halal-source, Muslim-friendly kitchen, see the Royal Princess. This international and seafood cruise is the pick when a strong seafood and sushi spread, an easy ICONSIAM pier and an honest price are what matter.

    Why Choose Us?

    🍣
A Japanese corner and a seafood corner, not just a buffet line
Sashimi and assorted sushi rolls, river prawns and New Zealand mussels, served as their own stations. For a dinner cruise at this price, a genuine sashimi and seafood spread is unusual and is the reason many guests pick this boat.
    🥩
International mains that go beyond the usual
Tenderloin steak with gravy, grilled saba fish, baked spinach with cheese, penne with a choice of mushroom cream or beef bolognese, and truffle soup, alongside a full Thai signature line of Pad Thai and chicken Massaman. There is real range here.
    🍰
A dessert spread worth saving room for
Panna cotta, crème brûlée, berry cheese cake, chocolate mousse, toffee cake and Thai lod chong with coconut milk. Most river cruises stop at fruit and a slice of cake; this one does not.

    What Actually Happens

    1

Two cruises, one brand — make sure you're booking the ICONSIAM one

The first thing to get straight is which Chao Phraya Princess cruise you are booking, because the brand runs two and they are genuinely different. This page is the international and seafood cruise, and it departs ICONSIAM — the large riverside mall on the Thonburi bank of the river. The brand's other product, an Indian-buffet cruise with a dedicated vegetarian Indian section, departs a completely different pier, Terminal 21 Rama 3, several kilometres away. Guests who book one and turn up at the other have a bad evening, so we make the distinction clear at the time of booking and send you the correct pier and check-in time in writing the day before. If a seafood and sushi spread with international mains is what you want, you are in the right place; if you specifically want Indian food, our separate Chao Phraya Princess Indian page is the one to choose. Getting to ICONSIAM is straightforward: the BTS Gold Line runs to Charoen Nakhon station a five-minute walk away, the free ICONSIAM shuttle boat crosses from Sathorn Pier near Saphan Taksin BTS every 15 to 20 minutes in the evening, and Grab or taxi works if you allow 30 to 60 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic. Or book our private round-trip transfer and the driver takes you door to door.

    2

The Japanese and seafood corners — more than you expect at this price

What sets this cruise apart from the typical Bangkok dinner buffet is that the seafood is treated as its own event rather than a token gesture. There is a Japanese corner serving sashimi and assorted sushi rolls — freshly cut fish on a river cruise is genuinely unusual at this price point — and a separate seafood corner putting out river prawns and New Zealand mussels. The smart move when you board is to head for these two stations first, while the sashimi is at its coldest and the prawns are fresh, before the first rush builds and before you fill up on the mains. From there the buffet opens out: tenderloin steak with gravy, grilled saba fish with soya sauce, stir-fried seafood in yellow curry, baked spinach with cheese, penne with your choice of a mushroom cream or a beef bolognese sauce, grilled lemongrass chicken, deep-fried fish cake and a salad bar, with Tom Yum Kung and a surprisingly good truffle soup to start. It is a broad, international spread with enough range that a table of mixed tastes — the steak eater, the seafood lover, the person who just wants Pad Thai — are all genuinely well fed rather than compromising. For couples and worldwide travellers who want variety and a proper seafood showing, this is the buffet that delivers it.

    3

Boarding at ICONSIAM, the welcome drink and getting the pier right

ICONSIAM is a premium, central place to start an evening on the river — it is the same waterfront our newest luxury vessel, the Opulence, uses — but it comes with one catch that catches people out: there is more than one pier, and several different cruises load from the same stretch of riverfront at almost the same time. That is why 'we couldn't find the boat' is the single most common complaint at busy Bangkok piers, and ICONSIAM is no exception. We solve it the same way every time: when you book, we confirm your exact check-in time and the precise ICONSIAM pier for the Chao Phraya Princess, send you written directions and a map the day before, and give you a WhatsApp number to message if anything is unclear when you arrive. Check-in opens roughly ninety minutes before the 19:30 departure, so there is no need to rush; come a little early, enjoy the riverside mall, then make your way to the counter. As you board you are handed the welcome drink and the live music is already playing. Settle in, and if a river-view or window table matters to you, make sure you asked us for it at booking — we pass the request to the cruise team in advance, which the online ticket platforms do not do.

    4

Wat Arun, the Grand Palace and the river by night

The ship leaves ICONSIAM at 19:30 and turns up the Chao Phraya as the buffet opens and the city lights come up. About forty-five minutes after departure the river delivers the moment everyone waits for: Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, appears illuminated on the bank, its 82-metre porcelain-covered prang glowing against the dark sky at water level. Shortly after, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew come into view — white and gold spires lit up, the royal complex King Rama I founded on this riverbank in 1782 — and then the Rama VIII Bridge, a 300-metre asymmetric cable-stayed span completed in 2002, passes overhead with its cables lit gold. These are the photographs people come for, and the open-air areas of the ship give you a clear line to all of them as they pass. Inside, the live music plays through dinner, and as the ship reaches its turning point and runs back south the dessert spread is the second act of the evening — panna cotta, crème brûlée, berry cheese cake, chocolate mousse and Thai lod chong, with coffee and tea. Docking is at 21:30 back at ICONSIAM, where the mall's restaurants and shops stay open late, so a two-hour cruise can roll easily into a longer night out by the river.

    5

How it compares — and when to choose a different boat

Part of doing this honestly is telling you when another boat would suit you better, and with four cruises in our hub the distinctions matter. Choose this Chao Phraya Princess International cruise when a strong seafood and sushi spread, a generous dessert table, an easy central ICONSIAM pier and an honest ฿1,250 price are what you want — it is the international all-rounder. If you want the newest, most premium vessel on the river, with a candlelit open-air rooftop and a 30-plus dish buffet from the same ICONSIAM waterfront, the Opulence is the step up in luxury and price. If anyone in your group needs a halal-source, Muslim-friendly kitchen with alcohol kept to a separate area, the Royal Princess is the right choice. And if Indian food is the priority — a full Indian buffet with a dedicated vegetarian Indian section — the brand's own Chao Phraya Princess Indian cruise from Terminal 21 Rama 3 is the one to book instead of this one. They are all on the river the same night; the only question is which spread and which pier suits your table best, and we are happy to talk it through on WhatsApp before you decide. For a couple or a mixed group who simply want a varied international dinner with real seafood and a great view, this is the comfortable, sensible pick.

    Is This Right for You?

    Couples and worldwide travellers

Yes — a varied international spread, real seafood and sushi, a generous dessert table, the temples by night and live music, from a central ICONSIAM pier. Ask us for a river-view table when you book. It is the comfortable international all-rounder of our cruise hub.

    Seafood and sushi lovers

Yes — and this is the standout. A Japanese corner with sashimi and sushi and a seafood corner with river prawns and New Zealand mussels, both served as their own stations rather than a token plate. Hit them first, while everything is freshest.

    Mixed groups who want range

Yes — tenderloin steak, grilled saba fish, penne, yellow-curry seafood, grilled lemongrass chicken, Pad Thai and a salad bar mean the steak eater, the seafood lover and the person who wants Thai food are all covered on one buffet.

Travellers who want luxury — or Indian, or halal

Partly — for the newest luxury vessel with a candlelit rooftop, choose the Opulence from the same ICONSIAM pier. For Indian food, the Chao Phraya Princess Indian cruise (Terminal 21 Rama 3). For a Muslim-friendly halal-source kitchen, the Royal Princess. We'll help you pick on WhatsApp.

First-time visitors who want the highlights

Yes — in two hours you see Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew and the Rama VIII Bridge from the river, eat a full international dinner and hear live music, from a central pier with the BTS and a shuttle boat to reach it. We confirm your exact check-in time so you start in the right place.

    Couples and celebrations

Yes — the dessert spread, live music and the river by night suit a celebration, and a complimentary cake can be arranged on most sailings when you tell us the occasion at booking. Ask us for a river-view table when you reserve.

    What Our Guests Say

"We chose this over the pricier cruises and were so glad we did. The sashimi and the seafood corner were genuinely good, the tenderloin steak was a surprise, and the dessert table — crème brûlée, panna cotta, cheesecake — was the best we saw on any cruise we researched. Trip Thai Tour confirmed the exact ICONSIAM pier and time, so we walked straight on. Great value evening."

    Daniel & Sofia M.Barcelona, SpainCouple

"Mixed group of six with very different tastes — steak, seafood, Thai, and a couple of fussy kids who just wanted pasta and fries. There was something for everyone, which is rare. Departing from ICONSIAM made it easy with the BTS, and the kids loved the temples lit up. The team's directions to the right pier saved us the usual confusion."

    T
    The Williams FamilySydney, AustraliaFamily

"As Japanese travellers we did not expect much from the 'Japanese corner' on a river cruise, but the sashimi and sushi were better than we expected and the seafood was fresh. A relaxed, good-value two hours with beautiful views of Wat Arun. Trip Thai Tour were clear about which pier and answered our questions quickly on WhatsApp."

    H
    Hiroshi T.Osaka, JapanCouple

"Exactly what we wanted — an international buffet with real seafood, a lovely dessert spread, live music and the Grand Palace gliding past at night, without paying luxury-cruise prices. ICONSIAM is so easy to get to. Booking through Trip Thai Tour meant no surprises and a real person to message. Would book again."

The Chao Phraya Princess runs two different dinner cruises. This one is the international and seafood buffet, and it departs ICONSIAM — with a Japanese corner (sashimi, sushi), a seafood corner (river prawns, New Zealand mussels), international mains and a generous dessert spread.

The brand's other cruise is an Indian-buffet product with a dedicated vegetarian Indian section, and it departs a different pier, Terminal 21 Rama 3. Make sure you book the one you want — if you specifically want Indian food, see our Chao Phraya Princess Indian page instead.

The buffet has a Japanese corner with sashimi and assorted sushi rolls, a seafood corner with river prawns and New Zealand mussels, and international mains including tenderloin steak with gravy, grilled saba fish, penne with mushroom cream or beef bolognese sauce, baked spinach with cheese, stir-fried seafood in yellow curry and grilled lemongrass chicken.

There is also a Thai signature line (Pad Thai with fresh shrimp, chicken Massaman), Tom Yum Kung, truffle soup, a salad bar, and a generous dessert spread — panna cotta, crème brûlée, berry cheese cake, chocolate mousse, toffee cake and Thai lod chong. Menu items may vary seasonally.

The price is ฿1,250 per adult and ฿1,100 per child aged 4 to 10 when booked through Trip Thai Tour. Children under 4 sail free (no allocated seat).

The price includes the full international and seafood buffet, the welcome drink, drinking water, coffee and tea, live music and the two-hour cruise. Special-event dates (New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Loy Krathong) use different pricing and are not sold online — contact us on WhatsApp.

This international and seafood cruise departs from ICONSIAM, the riverside mall on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River — the same waterfront our Opulence cruise uses. It does not depart from the Terminal 21 Rama 3 pier, which the brand's Indian-buffet cruise uses.

ICONSIAM has more than one pier and several cruises share the waterfront, so we confirm your exact check-in time and the correct pier with you when you book and send written directions the day before.

Three easy ways. The BTS Gold Line runs to Charoen Nakhon station, a five-minute walk from ICONSIAM. The free ICONSIAM shuttle boat crosses from Sathorn Pier, near Saphan Taksin BTS station, every 15 to 20 minutes in the evening. Or take a Grab or taxi — allow 30 to 60 minutes from central Bangkok in evening traffic.

We also offer a private round-trip hotel transfer from ฿1,500 per vehicle: the driver collects you from your hotel and brings you home after the cruise. Add it when you book.

Yes — it is one of the main reasons to choose this boat. There is a dedicated Japanese corner with sashimi and assorted sushi rolls and a separate seafood corner with river prawns and New Zealand mussels, plus stir-fried seafood in yellow curry among the mains.

The tip is to visit these stations first when you board, while the sashimi is coldest and the prawns are freshest, before the first rush builds.

The cruise departs ICONSIAM at approximately 19:30 and returns at approximately 21:30 — about two hours on the water. Check-in opens roughly 90 minutes before departure.

Because ICONSIAM is a busy, shared waterfront, we confirm your exact check-in time and the correct pier with you at the time of booking so you arrive at the right place with time to spare.

This is the international and seafood cruise, and it is not marketed as halal. If a Muslim-friendly, halal-source kitchen is essential, our Royal Princess Cruise is the right fit.

If you specifically want Indian food, the same brand runs a separate Indian-buffet cruise with a dedicated vegetarian Indian section from the Terminal 21 Rama 3 pier — see our Chao Phraya Princess Indian page. Message us on WhatsApp and we will help you pick the right boat.

Over two hours the cruise sails past Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn), the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, and the Rama VIII Bridge, with ICONSIAM's illuminated façade at the start and finish.

Wat Arun appears illuminated about 45 minutes after departure and is the photograph most guests come for. The open-air areas of the ship give the clearest view of each landmark.

Yes. Child tickets are ฿1,100 for ages 4–10, and children under 4 sail free (no allocated seat). The buffet has plenty children enjoy — sushi, pasta, French fries, fried rice and a big dessert spread — and the temples lit up at night are exciting for kids.

A complimentary cake can be arranged on most sailings when you tell us the occasion at booking. Passport may be checked for child age at check-in.

Both depart ICONSIAM. The Opulence is our newest and most premium vessel — a candlelit open-air rooftop, an air-conditioned luxury interior and a 30-plus dish buffet — and it is priced accordingly from ฿1,800.

This Chao Phraya Princess International cruise is the more affordable international option from the same pier, from ฿1,250, with a strong seafood and sushi spread and a generous dessert table. Choose the Opulence for luxury; choose this for value and seafood.

Yes — tell us at booking and we pass the request to the cruise team in advance. The best window and river-view tables go first, so requesting early gives you the best chance.

We cannot guarantee a specific table, but we always ask on your behalf — which the online ticket platforms generally do not do.

Cancellations more than 7 days before the tour receive a full refund; between 7 days and 48 hours a 50% refund applies; within 48 hours or for no-shows the booking is non-refundable. Contact us via WhatsApp +66 89 949 6235 to cancel or reschedule — full terms at tripthaitour.com/cancellation-policy.

We do not cancel confirmed bookings due to low numbers — the cruise operates daily. Special-event dates (New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Loy Krathong) have separate pricing and are arranged directly via WhatsApp.
